Or keep reading to read my story about how I use a beat make online in my full time producer job…and how I went from a nobody making beats for fun in my room to a full time producer in Atlanta…just using this beat make online
Hey Steven here, If you’re looking for the best beats maker online, then I’m glad you’ve found this website and I strongly suggest you keep reading…
Because this is my uncensored story of how I turned from an amateur beat maker into a full time producer using just an online beat maker. I’m going to talk about what beat maker software I have used over the years…and which software and online beats makers to stay away from. And I’m also going to show you the one beats maker online I am using that finally let me take my beat making abilities to the next level (which is now the reason I made it as a producer).
So by now I bet you’ve done a little searching and maybe even tested out some of the rap/hip hop beat makers out there. Or maybe you’re wondering if you should get a super expensive software bundle like they use in studios.
Well I know how confusing this can be because I’ve been there…all of the choices out there can be really confusing. When I was first trying to figure out what beat making software I should use, I basically didn’t do anything but research for a month before I even started testing out software and online options. And really…there are two big problems with both of these options:
A lot of the free online beat makers are not that great, don’t offer much flexibility, and don’t produce high enough quality sound.
The high end software bundles with the quality sequencers are crazy expensive sometimes and you typically need a super computer to run these properly (and not to mention you pretty much need a degree in music studio engineering just to understand how to use this software).
Well, when I started out I had no clue which route to take so I dabbled around with some free online beats makers and it was fun for a couple days but I found that it was quite limiting in what it could do.
So the next thing I did was buy an expensive music/beat production software package and while the software was fine and all…it was crazy expensive, there was a huge learning curve, and I needed about $500 worth of upgrades on my computer so the stuff would work right. And over time I ended up spending way more time overcoming technical problems and learning the software than I did actually making beats. I’d say for every minute you spend making your beats…you have to spend about 10 dealing with time sucking technical problems.
If I had to do it all over again I would not have bought all of the expensive music production software…because while these software packages might be great for full studios…they are not ideal for someone looking to make just the beats and rhythms for songs.
Well for about a year and a half I tried two of the most popular pricey music production software packages and I dabbled with about 10 free online beats makers…and none of these were producing the kind of beats I was wanting to make. Either they were too time consuming and difficult to use…or they couldn’t do enough and the sound quality was bad.
But finally after all this time I wasted (and not to mention money!), a guy I knew who was a full time producer in Atlanta told me about what he’d been using to make his beats for over a year. It was called DubTurbo and this was the best high quality beat production software I had ever used.
Within a week I had almost completely abandoned all of the cheap online beat makers and my ubber pricey full music production software packages for DubTurbo. The only negative about Dubturbo is that if you have a really old computer (built before the 2000’s) it may be a little too advanced for your computer and you’ll need to do some upgrades. But if you’ve bought a new computer in the past 10 years it should be fine.
To this day I am still using this same beats maker online and it’s the main thing I’m using when I sell my beats to studios and musicians.
These days, everyone who wants to be popular in the hip hop or rap scene can if they use an online beat maker. Musicians and hip hop/rap artists who have used a beats maker online have sprung out of nowhere and are now renowned around the world…and it’s all because of these cool music beat makers on the internet. One of the things in the past hat held artists back was the inability to afford and to use these huge complicated music creation software suites; however, the music world has greatly changed and most artists and beat makers are using online options. This makes creating music so easy, but more than that, is your ticket to the next big thing.
Imagine this. You are awakened by a phone call. An unknown number flashes on the screen. You get really upset! It is too early to make a phone call like that. Everyone knows you’re probably asleep! You just listen to it ring for a few seconds…but decide to answer. And it changes your life forever!
The caller on the line is a huge hip-hop artist and wants to meet in his office today. You are wondering why. Apparently, the artist heard a sample of your music online and they are willing to buy a composition from you.
If that sounds kinda crazy and far fetched…it’s not! Because that’s basically what happened to me and it was all because I was using an online beat maker the make my beats online.
The software I use is fantastic and it’s what I now use as a full time producer. The web is full of beats maker software but my favorite beats maker online is here:
When you’re first starting to make hip hop beats it can fun and frustrating at the same time. Trust me…I was there at one point. But it’s really easier than you think. The first thing you need is good software and a decent computer (I’ll talk more about that on other posts at BeatsMakerOnline.com). But once you’ve got that down it’s time to start making hip hop beats. So here’s a quick video I made with 8 tips that I use a lot of times when I’m using my beats maker online or beat maker software:
1. Choose the style of music you want to create before you start working (example: rnb, rap, pop, etc). There have been some times when I’ve created some hot beats but by the time I was done with the song I didn’t know what genre of music it was in.
2. Listen to other songs by the artist that will be using your beats so you can get a feel for their style and incorporate that into your beat making.
3. Know how you want your song to be formatted. A typical format is: introduction, verse, chorus, verse, bridge, etc. That’s all it is, but basically, you just change the order around however you want. Turn on the radio and listen to your favorite artist and learn how they set up their songs. When the instruments come in…and when they fade out. The most basic way to start is to use a 2 or 4 bar intro, verse 16 bar verse, 8 bar chorus, 16 bar verse, 8 bar chorus, 16 bar verse, 8 bar chorus. This is probably the most widely used format when people make hip hop beats (this is also very common in rap). If you want an even simpler format, you can create an 8 bar loop and keep it the same throughout the entire song.
4. It is easier to start with the drums when making your beat. Using a kick, snare, and hi-hat are always a good start. Record a four-bar pattern with those sounds first. Then layer with maybe some toms, cowbells, symbols, etc. The drums are the most important thing about HIP HOP BEATS! The drums have to hit…and hit hard (aka they have to drive the song).
5. Layer the Beat-I really recommend you do this because it will give your beat a fuller sound. Basically once you’re done with the basic composition of your beat, go back and fill some gaps with another instrument. Also, use different instruments to layer on top of an existing part.
6. Pan-Panning is basically a tool that lets you have an instrument all the way to the left, right, or anywhere in between. You can use this tool for whatever reason you want. It gives each track its own little space in the stereo field. There are no rules when you use panning so just experiment and see what you like.
7. Mixdown-This is really important! If you have a crappy mix on your beat..your beat won’t be good. When mixing, start with each track individually. Solo each track and make sure it sounds good by itself. EQ if needed! And make sure your individual tracks and the mix as a whole is not distorting. If a track is distorted, go to that instrument and be sure to adjust it because distortion will ruin your mix.
8. The Bounce- Now that you’ve made a hip hop beat, you’ll probably want to put it on a CD or upload to the Internet. When you are exporting to cds: use .wav file, 44.1 khz, 16 bits. If you want to load it on the internet use: 320 kbps (the highest mp3 quality) or 128 kbps. Most sites do not accept 320kbps because the file size is too large. So, go with 128 kbps.
These are all just guidelines to get you started. There are millions of ways to make a hit, but this is just to help you get your feet wet. Hey guys, Steven here again. I just wanted to write a quick article for you about how to make your own beats online and hopefully give you some good pointers.
The music industry has more players than ever and more people are discovering that they can make their own beats with computer programs, software, or online options. Because today’s technology is so powerful, new artists are always springing up and there’s no longer a separation between the big time producers in million dollars studios and home based producers using either beat maker programs or online beat makers (be warned thought that not all software and beat making software are created equal..but more about that later).
The cool thing is though because technology is letting more people get in the game we are now seeing more techniques and more original sounds coming out of home studios and from people’s laptops than ever before…and heck…people who are making beats online or are using good beat making software are starting to realize that they can do this full time like I have done (see my other posts for more about this).
Home based producers and so called laptop beat makers may even find their creations become the new hot thing on the airwaves in the future. All they need and all I started off with was a good beat making program and a computer and you are good to go (fyi that still all I really use).
You can use beat maker software on pretty much most computers now a days and it’s not difficult to use if you take the time to practice and learn the software. Obviously the more you are into it, the better you will become…but there’s really no limit. The best method I have found is practice a new skill each day and then once you’ve mastered that…move onto a new skill to master. You will be amazed at how quickly you will be able to make your own beats if you just follow this basic practice mentality. Once you are comfortable with the basic techniques for making your own rhythms, you can begin to modify the techniques to your unique way of doing things and create rhythms that are distinctive and innovative.
So if you have any questions hit me up on my contact page because I’d be happy to help out. And if you’re new to this all and you want to make your own beats, just get yourself a decent computer and a good beat maker program or use a good beats maker online (*see my other posts for what I use)…and then start practicing and you’ll be on your way. Good luck guy!
Are you looking for a beats maker online? Maybe you’re a producer (or a future producer), or maybe you want to make beats as a hobby because you’re a big hip hop or rap fan, or maybe you want to sell your beats to make a living. Well, no matter what the reason is, there are definitely a few great online options to make your beats (and some that suck).
To make great beats like the best producers out there you must have the right software obviously. We all know that in rap music you have to be in rhythm and you have to be in the right key for starters. But most software can do this so this shouldn’t be an issue.
On the other hand the the best producers are also creating sick hooks and hot beats with unique sounds from huge sound libraries. They also have control over the music and sounds so they can create unique loops and can add layers to the music.
If you’ve tried a that was free you’ve probably heard the cheesy loops and have been frustrated with the lack of control you have over the music. So most halfway serious producers or hobbyist rap/hip hop beat makers will rule these free options out pretty quickly after trying them.
But what do you use with all the options out there? And can you really create great sounding beats like you hear on the radio?
The answer is simply yes. I know because I am a producer and I have been creating and selling my beats to studios and musicians for years now. Technology has allowed me and other producers to make all our beats from home. All we need is our computer and our beat making software and we have everything we need. There’s a decent chance many of the songs you hear on the radio have the entire beat made from a producers home computer…and at very least many of the sounds, hooks, and beats have come from an online beats maker.
All you need to be successful is the right beat maker software that allows you to make your own rap beats and a computer with enough free space to install the software and access to the internet so you can download the software to install it.
Then you just have to become familiar with how to use the software and then use the sequencer to create notes and make the rhythm of the song.
Once you get the hang of how to use the software it’s really not all that hard and you can easily start making really hot beats that you can either use to create your own songs with or sell to studios or other musicians.
Since my living and my passion both revolve around creating beats, I’ve tried just about every piece of software out there to see which is the best. And I have almost exclusively been using this beats maker online for the past year: Click Here to check out my beats maker.
They have the most resources, the most flexibility, and it’s just downright the best beats maker out there. Check it out if you’re interested in making your own beats…Good luck… and I hope to hear you on the radio soon.
